Clarksville Writers Conference 2024

The Clarksville Writers Conference is an annual event in Tennessee celebrating literary creativity, inspired by the Southern Renaissance writers of the 1920s-1930s. Held at Austin Peay State University, the conference features workshops, plenary sessions, and presentations with renowned authors, including keynote speaker Susan Beckham Zurenda. Attendees can engage in writing workshops, network with professionals, and participate in book signings and receptions. The event honors the region's rich literary history and fosters a supportive environment for both emerging and established writers.

The Clarksville Writers Conference features a writers contest that highlights creative writing talent. Entrants can submit works across various categories, and the top winners receive awards. In 2024, one of the prestigious awards presented is the Thomas Dabney Mabry, Jr Creative Writing Award. The contest provides emerging and established writers the opportunity to showcase their work and gain recognition at the conference.
